Sales Lead Management Association Adds Inquiry Management Check List

The SLMA has added a forty-seven point checklist to the Resources area as a tool for members to judge how well they are managing sales inquiries.  This checklist considers inquiry management to be a process with many different functions regardless of the type of software or vendor used to manage the inquiries.  We expect that the check list will evolve over time and there will be many updated versions of it as members send critiques and comments.  If you see something that is missing or should be changed, edited, updated or deleted, send you comments by alpha and number listing to:  [email protected].  Contributors will be listed by name and company at the end of the list. The SLMA reserves the right to edit, judge, critique, cleanup, or ignore checklist items that are not appropriate.

I would like to make you aware of a recent MIT study that discovers a huge increase in contact and qualification rates for responses to Web inquiries that occur in 5 minutes or less. In fact, the odds of actually making contact increase 100x by making contact within 5 minutes, and the odds increase 21x of setting an appointment with the inquirer if the call attempt is made in the same 5 minutes.The study done by Dr. James Oldroyd was presented at both the Boston and San Francisco B2B Demand Generation Summits for MarketingSherpa in October of 2007.
